What is Hitch Halo?

Hitch Halo is an adapter plug that plugs into your existing 7 pin OEM receptacle and your specific trailer or pull behind RV is then plugged to Hitch Halo

What does Hitch Halo do?

Hitch Halo incorporates two auxiliary plugs designed to power additional lighting sources. One port is for reverse lighting and the other is for a spot/work/safety light. These ports do not affect the normal function of the 7 pin plug but instead add functions that didn’t previously exist.

What do I need to use Hitch Halo?

– the Hitch Halo plug

– a vehicle with a 7 pin receptacle

– reverse light options will require a wire harness and lights

– wire harnesses are made to order according to your specific needs

– spot/work/safety light

How does Hitch Halo help me?

Most of the boat, enclosed, dump trailers and pull behind campers are not equipped with backup lighting. This makes reversing in low light situations, alerting other drivers to your intention when reversing and general visibility difficult. Your previous options were to tie into the existing wiring on your vehicle. This involved dismantling parts of the vehicle to access wiring, splicing and wiretapping the OEM harness. Potentially causing risk or damage to your expensive vehicle and its electrical system, body work or lighting. Hitch Halo solves this problem!

Additionally, Hitch Halo incorporates the ability to plug in a spot/work/safety light. Need lighting to change that tire or work under the hood of your vehicle or even someone else’s?  Do you need additional lighting to see where you’re going and what you’re working on? Want additional visibility/illumination for safety? Hitch Halo does not require reverse lighting to utilize the spotlight. You can utilize the Hitch Halo plug and the spotlight by itself. Just leave it in the car for those situations where lighting is needed!

how to measure your trailer for a Hitch Halo wiring kit

Question - I'm not sure how to determine the wire length of my trailer ?

Answer - No problem, we can make a custom length specifically for your application! Here's how

- Use the diagram to determine which way you'll run your wires. Either along the rail (yellow line) or straight through the center of your trailer (green line).

Most wiring is run along the outside rails (yellow line).

- using a tape measure, follow the yellow or green line in the diagram but on your own trailer. Be sure to measure the extra length of wire where your stock harness extends beyond your trailers hitch and plugs into your vehicle (typically this adds another 2-3 feet). Basically you're measuring the entire length of your trailer plus the plug portion.

- You now have a total length needed for your harness! Put that number into the "main wire length" box.

- Now measure the width of your trailer ( or from where your going to mount the Hitch Halo lights) Put this in the "extension wire length" box.

You're Done! Now we need to get started making your custom wire harness!

Disclaimer: It's very important that you know where your wiring is going to be run and that you follow all the bends in the trailer as is applies. Example: If you measure front to back in a straight line and decide to run wires along the rail, your harness will be too short and you'll need to order another one. We are not responsible for mismeasurements. We have representatives available if you have questions.
